CARPE DYEM
Kia Ora / Hola!
New Zealand-Based, Uruguayan artist Dyego Cortinas has worked for the last 20 years in film and photography, capturing stories that have taken him all over the world.
His experience ranges from working with Hollywood super-stars, Multinational Bank CEO's and Politicians to Indigenous farmers in Colombia, 1500 kids seeing snow for their very first time, Diabetic mountain climbers in Los Andes Mountains and many others.
This has given him a profound understanding of the human experience and has greatly impacted his life. These authentic encounters have shaped his vision, guiding him into different meditation practices relevant to everyday challenges and aspirations as well as developing a particular way of seeing through the camera and through life.
Dyego has a bachelor’s degree in Social Communications with a specialization in Cinematography from the Catholic University of Uruguay. With extensive training and experience in New Zealand/Aotearoa’s Film Industry, he has worked for the last 8 years on a diverse range of projects, from Feature films to TV series to documentaries, music videos and more.
He has been a Vipassana Meditation student for 6 years, is finishing his studies in Neurolinguistic Programming and, with his wife, runs workshops and Sound Journeys focused on wellbeing all around New Zealand.
You’ll usually find him supporting local musicians, tree-planting communities and biodiversity development efforts, as well as surfing, bird song recording and long reverb charged piano sessions.
